Making Snow Globes

Today after chapel we made snow globes from thr round Coca Cola bottles we had at our Christmas party.  Mrs. Bobo gathered buttons, twigs, google eyes, small pearls and orange foam triangles to put in the bottles.  We used some of those items to make our melting snowmen Wednesday.  We added white and silver glitter, a few drops of glyceryn, and water; then glued on the cap.  When you shake the globe the glitter swirls around and you can see all the items you would put on a snowman.  They are really neat!

Making Snow

We had such fun making snow today!  We used a magic white powder and water.  When you mix them together- "PUFF" snow appears.  It is soft and fluffy and a little cold.  We had fun feeling it.  We get to take our bag of snow home.
In PE we had a snowball fight with Coach.  Get ready summer t-ball; we have good throwing arms!

Making bird feeders

The birds will be looking for food as it gets colder!  Let's make feeders for them.

Happy New Year 2012!

It is January  2012 and my New Year's resolution is to redo my blog for the new year.  I will do my best to enter news and pictures each week.  Last week and this week we are having winter activities.  We've read lots of books about hibernation, migration and getting ourselves ready for winter weather.  Last week we made white snow owls and bears sleeping in their caves.  This week we are designing snowflakes, making snowglobes and making snow!  Check the hallway for some of our creations!
