Spring!

Spring!

Friday---"Happy 107th Birthday, Dr. Seuss!"

What a wonderful week of reading we have had!  So many rhyming books and wacky characters!  Dr. Seuss had quite an imagination!  After chapel we made real green eggs and ham.  We all liked the green eggs and ham.  Everyone got to help add eggs.  We get to take home candy green eggs made with white chocolate and a green M&M.'s.  Yummy!

Thursday is letter "Y" day.

What starts with a "Y"?  Yikes,we made quite a list!  Yes we made yellow "Y" on yellow paper and yellow yarn.
Yippee, what a lot of yellow!  We watched "One Fish, Two Fish" and made beautiful, colorful fish bowls using paint spray.  We painted a red and a blue fish and added sparkly blue and red ribbon.

Wacky Wednesday!

Today we wore wacky clothes and did wacky dances.  Can you dance to Alley Cat?  It gets faster and faster!
We watched "There's a Wocket in My Pocket" and made our own wockets!  Everyone's was different!  We went to music and then played outside,  What a beautiful day!  We matched rhyming words and colored the pictures

It's Silly Sock Day!

We have quite a variety of silly socks today!  Not a pair is the same as another.  We had visitor's from Lee Academy and, they loved our socks and our classroom.  We were very polite to them.  Mrs. Burd read "My Many Colored Days" to both 3K classes.  It is a good Dr. Seuss story.  All of us lay down on the floor with our feet out.  We have a funny picture of all of our socks!  When we got back in our classroom, we danced in our socks and then made colored tissue paper collages.  Mrs. Bobo played a game with small groups.  The game was called Silly Socks and had a washing machine.  We tried to match socks.  It was a lot of fun!  We designed our own silly pair of socks.  They are hanging in our hallway.  What a busy day we have had!
Tomorrow we have Rev. Walt coming to read to us.  We are going to do some wacky things!

Dr. Seuss Week is Here!

Today we celebrated The Cat in the Hat and wore a silly hat to school.  We made Cat in the Hat faces for our door.  We sang and danced for visitors Joe and Janice Burgos, who were visiting his brother Dr. Ben Burgos, a member of First Presbyterian. Joe and Janice work with the Moises Saenz school in southern Mexico. First Presbyterian helps support the school.  As a class we will correspond with the three year old class there.  It will be fun having pen pals from another country.

Tomorrow we wear our silly socks!

We're going Buggy!

What a fun week!  We made ladybugs, caterpillars, grasshoppers, and butterflies.  We learned the three parts of an insect and made models out colored clay and Q-tips.  We also created bugs for our insect jars, and painted beautiful fields of colored flowers for our foam butterflies.  Mrs. Bobo read "In the tall, Tall Grass" and we had scissor practice cutting green grass for our picture.  We had three layers of grass.  They are neat.  Next week we are "Hanging Loose With Dr. Seuss".
